The Smart Ship Gallery was inaugurated in 2011 in the Shimokitazawa Ward of Tokyo. The institution's primary objective is the promotion of creative thinking and cultural exchange through contemporary art.

The gallery's nomenclature is indicative of its mission to serve as a conduit between Japan and the global art scene, showcasing works by both Japanese and international artists. The gallery features a diverse range of artworks, including cityscapes, glass art, illustrations, ink paintings, landscapes, mixed media and sculptures.
Smart Ship is a company that aims to establish a new cultural industry by collecting exceptional creations from around the world and making them available to the public. The gallery's mission is twofold: firstly, to cultivate a society characterised by individuality and a respect for the individuality of others; and secondly, to establish a future in which a variety of forms of communication are available to enhance people's lives with diversity, excitement and happiness.
