Taras Loboda
Czech Republic
Taras Loboda was born into an artistic family in Ukraine. He graduated from the Kyiv Art Institute. In 1979, he enrolled at the renowned Zaretsky Studio, after which he participated in numerous national and international exhibitions. Since 1993, he has lived and worked in Prague.
Loboda creates thematic compositions, portraits, landscapes, and still lifes. He focuses on three main themes: portraits of women and nudes characterized by graceful lines and a melancholic attitude; classical still lifes; and ethereal landscapes.
The objects fascinate with their mysterious nature. Taras Loboda is an excellent graphic artist and painter with a rich imagination and keen sense of decoration. In his large-format paintings, he looks beyond the surface of things, penetrating time and space far from human activity. His still lifes, perfected with mastery and high illusionism, radiate enchantment and are flooded with supernatural light. They depict a world full of obvious reservations and pervasive restraint, where everything comes to a standstill just before understanding and resolution. Loboda captivates viewers, transporting them away from their everyday lives.
Taras Loboda is technically highly skilled. He effortlessly shapes forms, selects colors and contrasts, and achieves expressive luminosity and sonority with ease. Using color, line, and emotion, he blends the everyday on canvas, opening up new perspectives.
With a clear message and the ability to express it, Loboda has established himself in European postmodernism.
