Taras Loboda
Czech Republic
Taras Loboda is a European postmodern artist who has developed a distinctive style.
Born in Ukraine into the family of the famous artist I. I. Loboda, he graduated from the Kiev Art Institute in 1979 and attended the renowned Zaretsky Studio. He went on to participate in numerous international exhibitions. Since 1993 he lives and works in Prague.
The thematic content of his paintings is characterised by motifs such as portraits, landscapes and still lifes, and his oeuvre demonstrates a persistent and determined development of his main motifs: the portrait and the female nude, the strict classical still life and mysterious, phantom-like landscapes. The nude is characterised by a representation of the body with melodic lines and often a look that conveys a sense of loneliness.
Taras Loboda is a talented graphic artist and painter with a rich imagination and a keen aesthetic sense that tends to look beyond the surface of things.
The artist's oeuvre is distinguished by meticulous attention to detail, resulting in a world of rigid and static appearances. There is a discernible restraint in his artistic style, and the work frequently concludes beyond the point of complete understanding or resolution, leaving the viewer with a sense of unresolved complexity.
