Mamuka Kapanadze
Switzerland / Georgia
Mamuka Kapanadze is an artist and iconographer from Georgia. Born in 1979, he studied at the State Academy of Arts in Tbilisi. From 2007 to 2015, Mamuka took part in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Tbilisi, Georgia. He has also painted frescoes in several Georgian churches.
Mamuka started his career as a modern expressionist painter. He is a master of perspective and colour gradients. In his landscapes and still lifes, he uses fine lines alongside broad brushstrokes to tell cleverly arranged stories that the viewer rediscovers with every glance. He continues to develop his style and techniques. Currently, Mamuka mainly uses mixed media and various abstract styles such as splashes of colour, abstract expressionism and lyrical abstraction.
Mamuka's works are in numerous private collections in Georgia and abroad, as well as in several public collections, including the Georgian Embassy in Switzerland.
At ART INTERNATIONAL ZURICH 2023, Mamuka Kapanadze will show a mixed selection of her work, including portraits and religious art alongside expressionist and abstract realist paintings.
