Alice Hanakova
Switzerland
Alice Hanakova is a Czech artist residing in Switzerland whose artistic oeuvre is significantly influenced by the country's natural environment, particularly the Alps.
She has been creating works in both painting and drawing for over 15 years and is constantly inspired by new ideas to see the world from a new perspective. Her artistic practice is an expression of her personality. The images that emerge on the canvas spring from Hanakova's imagination and are influenced by her strong fascination with form, shape and colour, elements which manifest themselves in her work. Exploration of new techniques, styles and methods to optimise the visual outcome is a source of fascination in switching between different styles.
Alice Hanakova's oeuvre includes abstracts and graphics as well as landscapes, especially of the high alpine world and the animal kingdom.
The painting entitled "Matterhorn" is a remarkable example of visual artistry, characterised by a skilful interplay of contrasting elements.
The juxtaposition of the smooth sky and the textured mountain evokes a sense of vitality, thereby animating the Matterhorn. The employment of a monochrome palette serves to imbue the work with a timeless and dramatic quality, thus establishing it as a noteworthy piece of art.
The contemporary painting entitled "Day and Night" combines blue, white, and gold tones.
The composition suggests depth and atmosphere, with a mysterious dark figure-like form emerging from the left side. The application of gold leaf serves to accentuate the piece's contemporary aesthetic, thereby enhancing its overall sophistication.
