Kelly Fischer
Switzerland | USA
Kelly Fischer's works are a reflection on life, with each stroke of the artist's brush imbued with a sense of joie de vivre that is conveyed to the viewer through the medium of the canvas.
An astute and discerning observer, she meticulously documents the remarkable phenomena she encounters during her travels. Subsequently, she returns to her studios in New York, South Carolina, and Switzerland with a revitalized sense of purpose to further expand the scope of her oeuvre.
Kelly Fischer is a native of Tennessee who has resided in Switzerland for the past thirty years. She maintains robust connections with both countries and allocates her time between her studios in Bern, Weehawken, and Memphis. Her paintings have been exhibited in numerous galleries and exhibitions, including Art Basel Miami, the Austrian Biennale, and the Venice Biennale. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Kelly has authored eleven publications for children's literature and established and led the English Montessori School of Bern.
« I pursue shapes and colors. My semi-abstract, expressionist portraits tell a story of whimsical spontaneity. Based on an underpainting my art begins to emerge as color and texture are added layer by layer. The landscapes pull the viewer into a world of color, light, and emotion. My body of work has developed and evolved over time, with much of the outcome being driven by creative impulses.
Street Art is a multilayer series, featuring the St. Bernard Pass series as an underpainting. I enjoyed the challenge of painting this series, as it required a concentrated effort, along with the creativity of freestyle brushstrokes and color palette choices. »
