Ernestina Abbühl

Switzerland

Ernestina Abbühl is a Rhaeto-Romanic artist from Engadin whose abstract reliefs are inspired by alpine nature.
The artist identifies her subjects in the Engadine mountains, with ice, rock, earth and alpine flora constituting central themes in her work. Her artistic oeuvre is predominantly constituted by reliefs, which she creates using a variety of materials, including papyrus, paraffin, and wood. The incorporation of dried flowers and other natural elements underscores the artist's connection to her environment. The titles of the works are inscribed in the artist's mother tongue, Rhaeto-Romanic, thereby adding depth to the works.
Her work has been exhibited extensively in Switzerland and abroad. Ernestina Abbühl's artistic practice combines traditional craftsmanship with creative design, positioning her as an influential figure within the contemporary Swiss art scene.

«Fels. Eis. Kompression. Struktur. In langen Zeiträumen entstanden.
