Housi Knecht
Housi Knecht, the artist from Bern, was born in 1951. As a mechanical engineer he first emigrated to Australia, but then returned to Bern and opened his first studio in the historical centre in 1971. Interested in everything that happens in the world, he travelled a lot, including to New York, Hong Kong or through Russia and Japan.
In 2014, Housi and his wife Barbara M. Scheidegger took over the reign of the castle at Schlössli Rubigen and turned it into an art and culture park that can be visited every Saturday afternoon. This is also where he creates his works, including water-light sculptures, terrace sculptures, sculptures for public spaces and wall reliefs.
